I’ll admit I was watching TV while thinking up a caption for this post and the musical “How to Suceed in Business Without Really Trying” came across my screen. In that moment, the caption made sense since this post is about Cake Beauty, a delectably delicious brand of skin/body/hair care products that use none of that nasty stuff in making of the products and using the products is effortless and the scents are a burst of different flavours that linger wherever you use it. Ergo, you smell good without really trying.
I’m particular with scents. I’d like to think that most people are. We’re drawn to scents that create an emotion for us, whether that’s a reminder of something or simply that it makes us feel good wearing it. Given there are so many different ways to wear scents, I’ve come to realize that I like certain smells for particular events, including but not limited to, how I smell after a bath, how I smell at work, how I smell on a date, etc. While perfume is the usual go-to, I learned long ago that the best way smell good for longer is the layer scents. While they of course have to share an undertone of scent so to speak, less effort provides for longer wear, hence, you smell good without really trying 😉
I’ve also come to the conclusion that all over scent is one of the best ways to stay smelling pleasant for longer. So now when I choose products, I think about what works and what doesn’t from everything covering hair, skin and body. In particular with my dry shampoo choices. I am most definitely a 4-day wearing dry shampoo’er. I have a thick mane of hair that doesn’t do well with constant shampoo and conditioning so dry shampoo is this gal’s best friend. I prefer the powder variety as I feel they last longer than the aerosol ones. This one from Cake Beauty is really fab. It’s actually an everything powder that I use as a dry shampoo Not only does it smell good but it works and there are so many dry shampoo on the market that simply don’t work. I sprinkle a little before I go to sleep and I wake up looking like I just had a blowout so again, I smell good without really trying.
I swim in the mornings before work. I used to be a competitive swimmer in my youth. Back then they didn’t really tell us how the chlorine in the pool can be damaging to your hair and skin. It’s never deterred me away from the water though being a water baby. It’s simply made me take extra care of my hair and skin. In particular in terms of skin care. I use thick body butters and heavy creams after the pool to treat my skin from the dryness it experiences in the water. It really is just an added bonus that I’ll smell good afterwards.
Lately I’ve been feeling lazy and not wanting to do all the steps I take for my skin/body/hair regimens. By using less products but good ones, I’ve noticed I’m more consistent on my lazy days and these Cake Beauty products have helped me speed that process along.
Let me know if you have any products that help you smell good without really trying in the comment section below.
Cheers,
Oz
