- back again this Makeup Monday with another Empties Edition, this time featuring my used to the end, not a speck left, body products. when i look for body products i search for a few key things: is it all natural/close to, has a pleasant scent, made by a local company and after using it, does it irritate my skin. a few of these body products are repeats and a few are new, but each is going to get an opinion with links to each so you can check them out!
Product: Wild Hill Botanicals Coconut Milk Bath
Thoughts: this product is a repeater, you may have seen it reviewed here before and should know we love and search for local brands that have amazing products. Wild Hill Botanicals was introduced to me when my sister worked for Caposhie in Park Royal Mall. this was the first product i purchased from them and have re-purchased many times since, both for myself and as gifts. it’s scent is mild and from the coconut ingredient, not too sweet and not over powering on the skin once you’re out of the bath. it’s great for all skin types but especially dry, just be careful not to use too much ( just 2 tbsp, not the handful that is mentioned) as it can make the bath slippery when you get out and we don’t want any accidents! your skin will be GUARANTEED super soft and smelling amazing.
Buy or Not? yes i would buy this again and again…in fact i need a new one now!
Product: Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin and Nail Gummies
Thoughts: i picked THESE up from Shoppers Drug Mart in hopes of clearing up my skin this past summer, or well i hoped they would help. i Googled while in the store to see a few reviews and decided to give them a try as they were on sale and the reviews were pretty good. from what i had read, biotin was the key ingredient in hair, nail and skin health along with Vitamin C and E. the label instructs to eat 2 gummies per day with food, i found that taking 2 at a time made me quite bloated which i had read about in the reviews, so i decided to take 1 in the morning with breakfast and 1 at lunch. that worked for me to prevent bloating, i did notice a difference in my skin, less cystic breakouts, but not a difference in my hair or nails.
Buy or Not: if you’re looking to try a beauty supplement i would give this a try before buying a more expensive brand.
Product: St Tropez Gradual Tan Mousse
Thoughts: i am usually not a fan of anything “gradual” i don’t have the patience, but since i am a BIG fan of St Tropez products i decided to give this one a try. it’s easy to use, you follow the same scrub before, moisturize dry areas pattern as with a normal self tanner but this one builds color slower like a regular gradual self tanner’s. i like this one a lot as the color is nice and golden, no orang-y color thanks to the built in color neutralizing ingredient and the scent is not strong like more budget friendly self tanning options. the mousse texture is nice and light, a little is needed and it spreads well plus it has a tint so it’s easy to blend and avoid streaks. the color application after 1 use is only slightly lighter than a regular self tanner which i love.
Buy or Not: yes i would definitely buy this again, especially in the winter when i don’t like as dark of a tan
Product: cbeauty Universal Body Oil in Lavender
Thoughts: this is a staple in my skincare routine, i LOVE this body oil, i love that the company is owned by a local lady, that there is 2 ingredients and it makes my skin SO SOFT! it’s multi-purpose, you can use it as a body oil, hair oil, hair mask, massage oil, or a face moisturizer and a little goes a long way. i just wish they would make it in a bigger size!
Buy or Not: Yes and so should you!
Product: St Tropez Gradual Tan Sculpt and Glow
Thoughts: as i said in the review of St Tropez’s OTHER gradual tan product, i prefer instant gratification vs. waiting but i did love this product as an after sun lotion this summer! it doesn’t have a color, the texture is more like a gel-lotion and it dries quickly ( 10 mins) and has a natural sea algae and hyaluronic acid to make skin feel more toned. i didn’t notice a more toned look or feel but really loved the way this lotion hydrated my skin after the sun and enhanced my tan.
Buy or Not: yes i would buy this again but in the summer or for vacation
